Aprender nuevos idiomas

So I'm kind of awful at keeping up with this blog now that I'm back. Whoops. But this week so much has happened. Mainly, I started school again and I'm all moved into my apartment (and loving it) and my best friend moved to Virgina. So far I love the senior block (especially my math and children's lit classes)! And my spanish teacher is from Argentina!!!!! I'm so excited!! She's wonderful. And I've been skyping a ton with Katie , Paula, and Carolina. So much fun! And we all started using this livemocha website to learn new languages. Paula and I are learning portugués, Carolina is learning Italian (even though she already pretty much knows it) and, best of all, Katie is learning SPANISH!!!!!!!!! It's so exciting!!!! And she's totally dominating!!!! So far I only know the basics in portuguese. Eu não sou um homem, eu sou uma mulher. Eu não sou baixa, eu sou alta. Ele menino é jovem. Ela mujer é idosa. Tchau. Hahaha, I can kind of say what people are and aren't, but only to the extent that they're man/woman, young/old, rich/poor, and short/tall. Haha. But it's fun. I think it's pretty exciting learning something completely new for a change. Not that I didn't do that in Argentina, but still... Oh and also, my friend Flor is making official plans to come visit me for spring break!!!!!!!!! And Paula and all the girls are coming next year! I can't wait!

It's kind of strange being back on campus after having been gone for so long, but I decided that I really love the U of A. Argentina may beat the U.S. in some things, but the U.S. has this whole college thing right, I love the way our campus is! I miss the cityness of Buenos Aires but I really love Fayetteville for college. I love that everyone wants to give us free food and t-shirts and everything really. I love that it's like a whole little city but with all basically the same aged people in the same stage of life. I love that we're all here kind of being adults but not really with many responsibilities. I love the times when we have breaks between classes and just get to have picnics beneath shady trees on old main lawn or just hang out at Starbucks. I love the school spirit. And I can't wait for football to start!!! College is great. Genial!!! ¡La vida es sueño!
